Into the Deep Battle at Benton

Over the weekend, FTC Team 8373 Diva Force competed at the Battle at Benton along with 14 other teams from all over Arkansas. This was the very first competition for many of our students on the team, so there was a little bit of an adjustment period. Overall, we had a great time!

The students arrived in Benton, AR Friday night and set up their pits the next morning. The students had fun looking at all the other pit designs and thinking about how we could change ours up, and walking around and meeting with other teams.

It seems like it's a Diva Force curse to always be in the first match of the day and this event was no different. For the first official match of the season, the students only lost by one point! They did amazing at moving the free alliance samples to the human player zone for them to be turned into samples before hanging them on the submersible. They were able to get 4 samples on the high chamber.

For the rest of our matches, we kept running into random errors. Our alliance partners would have electrical problems for portions of the match or we would random mechanical glitches. Not to worry, we didn't let this spoil our fun! When were weren't running matches, we would practice with other teams on the practice field.

After all the qualification matches and the playoff matches, came the award ceremony. Diva Force won the Think Award! So proud of the students for the hard work they put in this weekend.
