Unearthed Arkansas State Championship

Unfortunately, most of Arkansas was battling a snow storm leading up to January 24th, so the event was moved to a remote event and held over the week of January 26th. That didn't stop TEK Center teams from having a good time and giving the remote event their all!
For the remote event, teams had to record and score five matches. We were allowed to take as much time as we wanted between matches and practice or change the robot as we went, but once we decided that we were going to do an official match, we couldn't back down. the TEK Center teams did amazing and all of our teams set new high scores! The highest score for all the teams competing were 175 for Team 66277 Apex Predator, 250 for Team 72459 Croco-Cools, and 300 for Team 68496 The Divas.
All of the judging interviews happened over a Microsoft Teams Meeting, so the students were still able to interact with the judges to answer questions and receive feedback. This was a great way to pivot during the remote event to still allow students' bubbly personalities and hard work show to the judges.
The awards were presented through an online recorded ceremony. The Croco-Cools were nominated for the Rising All Star Award and Mr. Max won the Mentor Award!
